“The Stylez”
was formed in August, 2007 in Tokyo, Japan and is produced
by Ryoki Koga and Sukezou.
Ryoki Koga is a singer-songwriter and Hip-Hop dancer.
He was born and raised in Fukuoka, Japan. He has been
listening to R&B and hip-hop dancing since he was
a child. At the age of 18, he decided to go to the U.S.
to study Hip-Hop and songwriting where Ryoki started his
dancing career in Hollywood, performing on television
and the live stage. He is currently back in Tokyo, performing,
choreographing, and teaching Hip-Hop dance on TV, film
and stage. In 2009, he made his first full album called
“Anamnesis,” which be found on iTunes and Amazon.
Sukezou is a traditional Japanese dancer and actor. He
was born to a family with a rich long history in music
and traditional Japanese dance in Tokyo, Japan. He started
dancing almost from the time of birth and his first dance
performance on stage was at the age of just 2 and has
since been constantly surrounded by traditional Japanese
art and performance.. He then went on to study stage acting
and performing arts in his teenage years and has decided
to follow the path of his ancestors in his career as a
professional Japanese traditional dancer.
When these two very different performers met, they found
their differences presented a unique challenge! Accepting,
learning, and understanding the two very different styles
then blending them together led to the creation of this
original and exciting dual performance style, which they
call “Soul Performance”.
They dance, they sing, they act…a perfect blend of two
unique styles…that is “The Stylez”! 2008
